Medical and training aspects in Football - 8th and 9th March 2019

The 13th international sports medical workshop will be organised by the Luxembourg Academy of Sports Medicine, Physiotherapy and Science, together with their partners and with the help of the Luxembourg Football Federation FLF and their trainer association ALEF on March 8th and 9th, 2019. The venue will be the 'Coque' in Luxembourg.

“Medical and Training Aspects in Football" is this year’s congress theme, with the aim to reflect on different aspects in and around prevention of injuries and preparation to Football games. The topics addressed were chosen with care so as to highlight different facets of injuries occuring in Football, their prevention and the physical preparation for a return to sports to Football.

The congress will feature 15 international speakers, ranging from well-known scientists and medical doctors in the field of injury prevention, injury surveillance and physiotherapy to trainers and coaching experts in injury prevention in Football. The guest lectures will be given by Prof. Dr. Per Hölmich and Dr. Markus Waldén.

The football congress will provide ample occasion to summarize existing knowledge and stimulate discussions between different stakeholders. It is directed at researchers, physiotherapists and medical doctors working in the field of football and sports medicine, as well as trainers, athletes and the broader public.
